Makstton Vehicle Fitment Guide

NIO ES8 Wheel Fitment Guide

This guide focuses on wheel fitment for the 2026 NIO ES8. A verified 2023/2024 ES8 installation is also included at the end for reference.

The 2026 NIO ES8 has a maximum permissible gross vehicle weight of 3,250kg and is equipped with factory air suspension. For a high-load vehicle of this size, wheel load rating, wheel position and dynamic clearance should be confirmed before considering the final appearance.

Based on Makstton's 3D scan of the wheel arches, measurements taken at the factory ride height and verified vehicle installations, we have compiled the following fitment data for owners and professional workshops.

NIO ES8-003-FG FK07R; FG BO03

Factory Wheel & Tire Specifications

Item Factory Specification
Wheel 22×9.5J ET43
Tire 265/40R22
PCD 5×120
Center Bore 62.55mm
Maximum Permissible Gross Vehicle Weight 3,250kg
Recommended Minimum Load Rating per Wheel 1,050kg

The ES8 is a high-load vehicle. Makstton recommends a load rating of at least 1,050kg per wheel. Necessary load capacity should not be sacrificed for lower weight or appearance.

Measured Factory Fender Clearance

During measurement, the vehicle remained at the factory air-suspension ride height, with a vertical tire-to-fender gap of approximately four finger widths.

Position Measurements on Both Sides
Front 24mm / 22mm
Rear 30mm / 32mm

These measurements were taken from the vehicle in its factory configuration and are provided for reference only. Air-suspension height, body tolerances and actual tire width can all affect the final wheel position.

MAKSTTON Recommended 22-Inch Fitment

With the factory body, factory air suspension and 265/40R22 tires, we recommend the following specifications:

Position Wheel Size Offset
Front 22×9.5J ET26
Rear 22×9.5J ET16

Compared with the factory 22×9.5J ET43 setup, these specifications create a fuller front and rear stance, bringing the outer tire position closer to the fender line.

The lower rear offset also allows for a more pronounced concave wheel profile.

If wider tires are required, do not apply these specifications directly. Makstton has completed a 3D scan of the wheel arches and can recalculate the fitment according to tire width, vehicle height and the desired stance.

Real-World Fitment 01: 2026 NIO ES8

NIO ES8-002-FG FK07R
Item Front Rear
Model MAKSTTON FG FK07R
Wheel 22×9.5J ET28 22×9.5J ET16
Tire 265/40R22 265/40R22

Compared with the factory 22×9.5J ET43 setup, the front wheels sit 15mm further outward and the rear wheels sit 27mm further outward. This setup retains the factory tire size while creating a fuller stance and a more pronounced concave profile at the rear.

This vehicle uses WEITU tires, which have a relatively wide actual section width. As a result, the rear tire sidewall sits slightly outside the fender line.

When using tires that run wider than their nominal size, the rear offset can be increased. An offset of approximately ET20 is recommended.

Real-World Fitment 02: 2026 NIO ES8

NIO ES8-003-FG BO03
Item Front Rear
Model MAKSTTON FG BO03
Wheel 23×10J ET34 23×10J ET27
Tire 285/35R23 285/35R23

This setup uses 23×10J wheels with 285/35R23 tires. Different front and rear offsets control the outer tire position while retaining greater visual depth at the rear. The 23-inch diameter and the BO03 full-face design also reinforce the ES8's substantial proportions.

Real-World Fitment 03: 2023/2024 NIO ES8

NIO ES8-002-FG FK07R
Item Front Rear
Model MAKSTTON FG FK07R
Wheel 22×9J ET30 22×9J ET20
Tire 265/40R22 265/40R22

This setup applies to the corresponding 2023/2024 NIO ES8 configuration and is included as a previous-generation installation reference.

Because the factory wheel width, wheel-arch space and body structure differ between generations, these specifications are provided for reference only.

Fitment Notes

The data in this guide is based on physical measurements, a 3D wheel-arch scan and verified installations. Air-suspension height, body tolerances, actual tire width and individual vehicle configuration may still affect the final result.
