We headed into the Badain Jaran Desert with Lulu Cars to film his “jet-powered” 350Z. A one-off build and a group of people who love cars came together against the desert and open roads, leaving us with this unforgettable set of images.

Sharing a hometown in Jiaxing made the collaboration feel even more personal. Our shared love of cars and customization gave us a reason to set out together and do something interesting.

These photographs document the shoot and the time we spent together on the road. For us, the joy of car culture comes from working seriously on something interesting with people who love cars.
