2021 / Our Journey
Suzhou GT Show
From Manufacturing Experience to an Owner’s Perspective
Photographed
In 2021, we returned to Suzhou GT Show with new flow-formed wheels for stance builds, while also beginning to explore two-piece forged wheels. As our product categories expanded, our approach to designing them was changing too.
Years of wheel production had given us a thorough understanding of manufacturing. Designing aftermarket wheels also required us to understand owners’ tastes and needs firsthand. Our team became more involved in modifying cars and working with actual vehicles, reconsidering design from the owner’s perspective, from the overall look of the car to installation and everyday use. Combining manufacturing knowledge with practical modification experience gave us a clearer understanding of how a wheel should work as part of the complete car.
That year, we also introduced designs including the CK70 and FF011. These went on to become hits in China’s aftermarket wheel scene. Owners’ choices and feedback gave our team confidence to keep investing in design and reinforced the importance of developing products around real needs.
These photographs record the new products and display cars, as well as a shift in MAKSTTON’s thinking. Getting involved in modifications ourselves and bringing owners’ experiences together with our manufacturing knowledge gradually became an important part of how we improved our products.
