Wheel Install Guide

MTW Wheel Union Wheel Install Guide
Consists of the following two parts:

Wheel Installation Guide

Step 1: Inspection and Preparation

Open the Packaging Box: Carefully check the appearance of the wheel to ensure it is intact and undamaged. Also, confirm that all installation accessories are complete. Accessories are usually placed in the wheel box with clear labeling.

Verify Accessories: Confirm that all accessories, including wheel covers, spacers, valve stems, nuts, or bolts, match the order and are not missing.

Initial Fitment: Place the wheel on the hub to check if the bolt pattern fits and ensure that the wheel does not interfere with the shock absorbers or calipers. Ensure all checks are correct before proceeding with tire installation.

Step 2: Dynamic Balancing

Install the Tire: Mount the tire onto the wheel and select dynamic balancing mode B+C.

Apply Balance Weights: During dynamic balancing, ensure that balance weights are applied on both the inner and outer sides to achieve the best balancing effect.

Step 3: Wheel Installation

Wheel Fitment: After the wheel is fitted with the tire, install it onto the vehicle and perform vehicle-specific fitment.

Spacer Check: Confirm that spacers are installed before fitting. For specialized bolt patterns, spacers may not be required, but failing to install spacers may cause vibrations during driving.

Pre-install Screws: After installing the wheel on the vehicle, pre-install the screws to secure it. Before tightening, check the nut hole diameter to ensure a perfect fit and avoid mismatching issues.

Makstton Wheel Union Notes: Makstton Wheel Union wheels have a default 60° conical seat. When installing nuts or bolts, please check if the hole positions match; otherwise, it may cause vibrations and deformation at the mounting position.

Tighten Screws: After the vehicle is lowered (height based on tire touching the ground), use a torque wrench to tighten the screws in a diagonal pattern. Adjust the torque according to the vehicle's factory requirements or refer to the recommended torque in the table below.

Common Issues Troubleshooting

Brake Vibration While Driving

Possible Cause: Worn brake pads or deformed brake discs.

Solution: If calipers have been modified, consult the caliper manufacturer; if using OEM brake discs, check the OEM brake discs.

High-Speed Vibration

Possible Cause: Poor dynamic balancing, imbalance of the wheel or tire, or loss of tire noise-absorbing material.

Solution: Check overall dynamic balance; if necessary, remove the wheel and perform a separate dynamic balance test. If the wheel balance is fine, check the tire. It is recommended to visit a shop equipped with Corghi or Hunter road testing equipment for inspection.

Note: Wheel deformation can also cause vibration. If the above methods are ineffective, consider sending the wheel back to the factory for inspection.

Noise Issues

Possible Cause: Tire pressure sensors falling off or debris entering the tire causing noise.

Solution: The wheel itself does not directly cause noise, but improper fitting of nuts or bolts may result in noise from tightening. Check the calipers or shock absorber ball joints.

Tire Fitment Guide

Wheel and Tire Compatibility: Different wheels are compatible with different tire models. For ease of installation, please refer to the following recommended tire table for passenger car wheels and tires. See the table below:

Unconventional Wheel and Tire Installation Precautions

For players who are new to stance modification, the following points need special attention:

Narrow Tires: Visual Effects and Risks

Visual Effects: Narrow tires can create an exaggerated stance visual effect, giving the vehicle a more personalized look.

Risks: Due to the lack of direct protection and coverage provided by narrow tires, the wheels may become more susceptible to deformation, sidewall cracks, and tire blowouts. These issues can potentially cause irreversible damage to the wheels.

Road Conditions and Matching Recommendations

Choosing Based on Road Conditions: Select tire and wheel combinations based on local road conditions. On uneven roads or in extreme weather conditions, it's advisable to choose wider tires to offer better protection and coverage, reducing potential damage to the wheels.

Matching Recommendations: Wider tires not only enhance safety but also improve vehicle stability and comfort.

Unconventional Tire Inflation Recommendations

There are generally two situations:

1. Passenger Cars: When the wheel is wider than the tire, inflation may be difficult.

2. Off-Road Vehicles: Many wide off-road tires may have trouble inflating due to long-term storage or stacking pressure, causing the tire to settle unevenly on the wheel.

It is recommended to seek a shop with a constant pressure greater than 10 kg for inflation. During inflation, it is advisable to use a tire bead seater to ensure the tire seats properly on the wheel.

Disclaimer: This inflation procedure carries potential risks and may cause serious injury or damage. Always perform the operation under the guidance of a professional. This tire inflation recommendation is for reference only; any actions taken based on this recommendation are at your own risk. We are not responsible for any losses or damages resulting from improper handling.

Compatibility Check

Check Compatibility: Before installation, thoroughly check the compatibility between the tire and the wheel to ensure they are compatible and to avoid problems after installation. Properly choosing and installing the tire and wheel can ensure driving safety and extend the lifespan of the wheels.

By following these precautions, you can better install unconventional wheels and enhance both the visual effect and driving safety of your vehicle.
